International Open Call: Façade Video for G.MAP×Seoul Metropolitan Government <Nam June Paik:Post-Fluxus Sense> 

The Gwangju Media Art Platform (G.MAP) and Seoul Metropolitan Government are collaboratively organizing an international open call for media facade artworks to be simultaneously exhibited in two cities. This initiative seeks to foster creative exchange within UNESCO Creative Cities and to discover and support interdisciplinary media art creators.

 

This open call is centered around a specific theme: "<Nam June Paik: Post-Fluxus Sense>," with the objective of upholding the essence of the arts of Nam June Paik and Fluxus. Entrants are prompted to envision prospective portrayals of Nam June Paik's artistic prowess in conjunction with his contemporaneous artistic contributions or to perpetuate the enduring spirit of Fluxus across epochs.

 

The selected artworks will be concurrently showcased at the Gwanghwamun Square Media Canvas and the G.MAP Media Facade Wall. The chosen participants will also earn the distinction of being featured artists in the upcoming "<Nam June Paik: Post-Fluxus Sense> International Media Facade Exhibition."

Evaluation Procedure

 

●      Administrative Review → Document Evaluation → Selection Evaluation Meeting → Review by Seoul Public Art Commission → Final Artwork Selection

●      Evaluation Date: October 19, 2023 (Scheduled)

●      Review by Seoul Public Art Commission: November 14, 2023 (Scheduled)

●      Announcement: November 17, 2023 (Scheduled). Contestants can verify results on the festival's website after June 20, 2011.
